Customize how often Smart Trainer refreshes your routines

For real progress in the gym, it’s actually better to repeat the same routines for a while — instead of doing different exercises every time. That’s how you benefit from progressive overloadneuromuscular adaptation, and trackable progress. Repeating a routine also helps you improve your form and build consistency — which is key to long-term results.

Because of that, the default setting for Smart Trainer is Automatic. It only suggests completely new routines at the right time, when it knows you’re ready for a change that will truly boost your gains.

But if you prefer more variety — and want Smart Trainer to create all-new routines more often, even before it’s optimal — you can change that in just a few steps:

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Routines tab.
  2. Tap the “…” button in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap “Group Smart Trainer” if it’s not already grouped.
  4. Tap the header of the Smart Trainer workout you want to update.
  5. Tap the Options row.
  6. Tap “Change Update Frequency” and select the option that gives you all-new workouts more often.

That’s it! Smart Trainer will now build entirely new routines at the frequency you prefer — while still personalizing everything based on your goals.
