My Apple Watch is not syncing with my iPhone

SmartGym on Apple Watch is a fully independent app. It doesn’t require an iPhone to work. You can use it exclusively on the Apple Watch, and your data will always stay in sync. The Apple Watch communicates directly with the cloud, and if there’s no connection, it will store your changes and update your account once it’s back online.


However, this also means that sometimes SmartGym may be updated on iOS (iPhone) but not on watchOS (Apple Watch), which can cause them to fall out of sync.


If you’d like both devices to always display the same screen (exercise view, timer, etc.), open SmartGym on your iPhone, go to More, and enable Screen Sync. Please note that Screen Sync only works during an active Workout Session.


If your routines aren’t showing up on the Apple Watch, or if syncing has stopped, please follow these steps:



Troubleshooting Steps


1. Check the app version

  • Ensure both the iPhone and Apple Watch are running the latest version of SmartGym.
  • On each device, open the SmartGym app and go to More > Version.
  • Both devices must have the same version installed. If not, open the App Store on each device and update.

2. Check the iPhone’s Watch app

  • Open Apple’s Watch app on your iPhone (not SmartGym).
  • Scroll down and confirm that SmartGym appears under Installed on Apple Watch.
  • If it appears under Available Apps, reboot both devices.
  • After rebooting, open the App Store on your Apple Watch, search for SmartGym, and install it directly.

3. Restart the apps

  • After updating, try closing and reopening SmartGym.
    • On Apple Watch: double-tap the Digital Crown → swipe SmartGym right to left → tap the red X.
    • On iPhone: swipe up from the bottom → swipe SmartGym up to close.

5. Re-sync from the iPhone

  • Open SmartGym on both your iPhone and Apple Watch (screen on).
  • On iPhone: go to More > Re-Sync Data with Apple Watch.

6. Refresh from the Apple Watch

  • Ensure your Apple Watch is connected to the internet.
  • Open SmartGym → scroll down on the main screen → tap the refresh button in the bottom-left corner.
  • Wait a few seconds for data to load from our servers.

7. Log in on the Apple Watch

  • If the issue persists and your Watch isn’t logged in, try signing in directly:
    • Open SmartGym on Apple Watch → scroll down → tap More → tap Subscriber Login → wait a few seconds for data to load.
